Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,710 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 359 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The TAP Air Portugal Airbus A319, registration CS-TVG, taxied from the parking area to runway 19 at LEMH Menorca Airport in a period of 5 minutes, covering approximately 1 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 19, the aircraft accelerated to a liftoff speed of 142 kt and left the ground after traveling a takeoff distance of 1,122 m 48 % of runway; local weather reported a temperature of 30 °C, wind 2 kt from 160°, with a 1 kt headwind component and a 1 kt crosswind.
Climb commenced 1 mile south of LEMH, with the airplane ascending from 1,176 ft asl to 36,999 ft asl-a gain of 35,823 ft-over 20 minutes while covering 134 nm.
Level cruise began 29 miles north of Cala de Portinatx and continued for 64 minutes, during which the flight covered 452 nm at cruise altitude.
Descent was initiated 7 miles west of Monforte, with the aircraft descending from 36,168 ft asl to 1,658 ft asl, a loss of 34,510 ft, in 24 minutes and over a distance of 110 nm.
The final approach to runway 02 at LPPT Humberto Delgado Airport was flown from the south on a heading of 23.0°, intercepting the glide path at 4 nm and 1,298 ft agl.
Landing on runway 02 was achieved with a threshold speed of 134 kt; touchdown occurred 365 m down the runway at 129 kt, with a vertical speed of minus 143 fpm and a lateral deviation of 3.6 m from the centreline; local conditions were 20 °C, wind 1 kt from 359°, with a 1 kt headwind and no crosswind.
The runway rollout was described as very good, with a total landing distance of 1,365 m 37 % of runway and alignment maintained throughout the deceleration phase.
After exiting the runway, the aircraft taxied to the parking area in 3 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 704 nm, required 118 minutes of airborne time, and consumed 3,909 kg of fuel.
TAP Air Portugal flight CS-TVG conducted the final approach to runway 02 at LPPT Humberto Delgado Airport from the south, maintaining a heading of 23.0° at 4 NM and 1,298 ft AGL. The approach was performed in temperature 20 °C with wind 1 kt from 359°, cross-wind 0 kt and head-wind 1 kt, and the threshold height was reported as good. The aircraft was configured for a threshold speed of 134 kt.
During the threshold and flare segment the aircraft met the good threshold height and transitioned to the flare without deviation from the expected profile.
Touchdown occurred 365 m down the runway at a speed of 129 kt, with a smooth vertical rate of minus 143 fpm. The touchdown point was slightly off centreline by 3.6 m.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 1,365 m, representing 37 % of the 3,716 m runway, and the runway rollout alignment was very good.
Maintain the excellent overall technique while tightening centreline tracking to reduce the 3.6 m offset observed at touchdown; a more precise alignment will further improve the already high score.
