Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 12,289 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,494 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 24 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 33R at KIAH George Bush Intercontinental Houston Airport. The takeoff distance was 2,762 feet, which was 23% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 142 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 67°F and a wind speed of 11 knots from 359°. This resulted in a crosswind of 5 knots and a headwind of 9 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile northwest of the airport and rising from 1,144 feet above sea level to 15,038 feet above sea level, an increase of 13,895 feet in just 6 minutes. This climb covered a distance of 23 nautical miles.
After reaching the desired altitude, the aircraft entered a level cruise, starting 1 mile south of TA90 Green Acres Airport. This cruise lasted for 7 minutes and covered a distance of 39 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting overhead 6TS8 Rabb And Nobra Airport. The descent from 15,087 feet above sea level to 4,200 feet above sea level, a decrease of 10,887 feet, took 13 minutes and covered a distance of 47 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 2 miles south of Wyldwood, which lasted for 5 minutes and covered a distance of 11 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 4 miles north of Lockhart. The descent from 4,001 feet above sea level to 1,768 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,233 feet, took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 10 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 36L at KAUS Austin Bergstrom International Airport was made from the south, with the aircraft heading 359.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,258 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 36L, which had a length of 12,289 feet, was successful, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 139 knots. The touchdown distance was 1,498 feet, and the touchdown speed was 134 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -242 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 28 feet from the centreline, and the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 28 feet from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 54°F and a wind speed of 12 knots from 25°, resulting in a crosswind of 6 knots and a headwind of 11 knots.
The total landing distance was 4,340 feet, which was 35% of the runway length. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 11 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 140 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 65 minutes. The aircraft used 5,333 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at KAUS Austin Bergstrom International Airport, achieving a score of 96.7%. The final approach to runway 36L was initiated from the south, with the aircraft heading 359.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,258 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a threshold speed of 139 knots, which was considered good. The touchdown distance of 1,498 feet was also within acceptable limits. However, the touchdown speed of 134 knots was slightly faster than desired, and the touchdown rate of -242 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair.
The runway touchdown position was not perfectly aligned with the centreline, being off by 28 feet. This slight misalignment was also observed during the runway rollout, where the aircraft's alignment was 28 feet off from the centreline. Despite these minor deviations, the overall landing performance was satisfactory.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 54°F and a wind speed of 12 knots from a direction of 25°. This resulted in a crosswind of 6 knots and a headwind of 11 knots, which may have contributed to the slight misalignment during landing and rollout.
The total landing distance of 4,340 feet was 35% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop safely within a reasonable distance. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with only minor areas for improvement.
