Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 2,199 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,199 m of the 3,526 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 762 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Boeing 737-800 taxied from the parking area to runway 22 at LSGG Geneva Cointrin International Airport in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 22, the aircraft accelerated to a liftoff speed of 152 kt and left the ground after a takeoff run of 1,425 m, representing 37 % of the runway length. Ambient conditions were 29 °C with a wind of 2 kt from 0°, a crosswind component of 1 kt and a tailwind component of 1 kt.
The climb commenced over Vernier, Switzerland, with the aircraft ascending from 2,399 ft asl to 33,677 ft asl, a gain of 31,279 ft achieved in 21 minutes while covering 152 nm.
Level cruise began 2 mi north-east of Oelleville, France, and was maintained for 23 minutes, during which the airplane travelled 174 nm.
Descent operations started above Kortenberg, Belgium, with a reduction from 33,999 ft asl to 1,278 ft asl, a loss of 32,721 ft accomplished in 23 minutes over a distance of 135 nm.
The final approach to runway 18R at EHAM Amsterdam Airport Schiphol was executed from the north, on a heading of 183.0° at 4 nm and 1,274 ft agl.
Touchdown occurred on runway 18R, whose length is 3,526 m, with the threshold height measured at 56 ft agl and a threshold speed of 146 kt. The aircraft contacted the runway 348 m beyond the touchdown zone at 137 kt, with a vertical speed of minus 256 fpm. Local weather reported 18 °C, wind 10 kt from 249°, a crosswind of 9 kt and a headwind component of 4 kt. The total landing distance recorded was 2,120 m, equivalent to 60 % of the runway.
Runway rollout alignment was described as very good, and the aircraft decelerated safely after the touchdown, completing the rollout within the remaining runway length.
After landing, the airplane taxied from the runway to the parking area in 14 minutes, covering 4 nm.
In total, the flight covered 474 nm, took 91, and consumed 4,032 kg of fuel.
The Boeing 737-800, scored 97.2 % on the flight, entered the final approach to runway 18R at EHAM Amsterdam Airport Schiphol from the north on a heading of 183.0 ° at 4 nm and 1,274 ft agl. The approach was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope and centreline all within limits.
At the threshold the height of 56 ft agl was slightly above target, while the threshold speed of 146 kt was recorded as good.
Touchdown occurred 348 m beyond the touchdown zone with a speed of 137 kt judged good; the vertical rate was fair at minus 256 fpm and runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The aircraft rolled out over a total landing distance of 2,120 m, representing 60 % of the 3,526 m runway, and rollout alignment was very good.
Minor refinements should focus on achieving the exact threshold height and moderating the sink rate to reduce the touchdown vertical rate, which will further improve an already strong performance.
