MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,189 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 519 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, an Airbus A350-900, then departed from runway 05R at EDDL Düsseldorf Airport. The takeoff distance was 728 meters, which accounted for 30% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 154 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 16 °C and a wind speed of 1 knot from a direction of 270 °. The crosswind and tailwind components were both 1 knot. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile northeast of EDDL Düsseldorf Airport. The climb took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 39 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 1,187 feet above sea level to 19,996 feet above sea level, an increase of 18,809 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 3 miles southwest of Nottuln, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. This phase lasted for 9 minutes and covered a distance of 57 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 3 miles south of Wagenfeld, Lower Saxony, Germany. The descent took 14 minutes and covered a distance of 46 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 19,556 feet above sea level to 1,444 feet above sea level, a decrease of 18,112 feet.
The final approach to runway 27R at EDDV Hannover Airport was made from the east, with a heading of 273.0 ° at an altitude of 1,260 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing was made on runway 27R, which had a length of 3,189 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 124 knots.
The touchdown point was 143 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 119 knots, which was a little fast. However, the touchdown rate was smooth at -109 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was also perfect after the landing. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 15 °C and a wind speed of 1 knot from a direction of 269 °, with a crosswind component of 0 knots and a headwind component of 1 knot.
The total landing distance was 1,444 meters, which accounted for 45% of the runway. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 151 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 40 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 4,480 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A350-900 successfully landed at EDDV Hannover Airport, achieving a high score of 98.5%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 273.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,260 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot executed a precise final approach, taking into account the runway's length of 3,189 meters and its orientation.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft landed within the designated touchdown zone, albeit 143 meters beyond the ideal point. The threshold speed was satisfactory at 124 knots, indicating a well-executed approach. However, the touchdown speed of 119 knots was slightly higher than the desired rate, which may have been due to the aircraft's momentum or the pilot's decision to touch down slightly faster.
The touchdown rate was smooth, with a descent rate of -109 feet per minute (fpm), which is a testament to the pilot's skill and control. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown.
The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 15°C and a gentle wind of 1 knot from 269°. The crosswind component was negligible, and the headwind was minimal at 1 knot. These conditions likely contributed to the smooth and controlled nature of the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,444 meters was 45% of the runway's length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase and brought it to a stop in a safe and controlled manner. Overall, the landing was a success, with the pilot executing a precise and controlled approach, touchdown, and rollout.
