Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
At the 500 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,692 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,692 m of the 2,641 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 372 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 5 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 08 at ZJSY Sanya Phoenix International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,594 meters, which accounted for 47% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 152 knots, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 29 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 7 knots at 90 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed, it started to ascend from 1,108 feet above sea level to 36,341 feet above sea level, an increase of 35,233 feet in 20 minutes, covering a distance of 126 nautical miles. The enroute climb started 1 mile east of ZJSY Sanya Phoenix International Airport. The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, which lasted 9 minutes and covered 76 nautical miles, starting 8 miles northeast of Haikou, China.
The aircraft continued its journey, entering a descent phase from 36,272 feet above sea level to 15,717 feet above sea level, a decrease of 20,555 feet in 12 minutes, covering a distance of 88 nautical miles. This descent started 34 miles southeast of Wuchuan, China. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, lasting 12 minutes and covering 60 nautical miles, starting 29 miles south of Taishan, China.
The aircraft continued its descent, this time from 15,355 feet above sea level to 3,950 feet above sea level, a decrease of 11,405 feet in 8 minutes, covering a distance of 29 nautical miles. This descent started 3 miles west of Zhuhai, China. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, lasting 2 minutes and covering 5 nautical miles, starting 6 miles north of Zhuhai, China.
The final descent phase started 2 miles northeast of Zhuhai, China, and took the aircraft from 3,974 feet above sea level to 466 feet above sea level, a decrease of 3,507 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 9 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 16 at VMMC Macau International Airport from the north, heading 158.0 degrees at 1 nautical mile and 423 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 16 at VMMC Macau International Airport was successful, with a touchdown distance of 369 meters, which was good. The touchdown speed was 132 knots, and the touchdown rate was fair at -204 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 6.6 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 22 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 8 knots at 80 degrees.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking from the runway, which took 6 minutes and covered 2 nautical miles. The total flight distance was 399 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 80 minutes. The aircraft used 3,324 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at VMMC Macau International Airport, achieving a high score of 96.7%. The final approach to runway 16 was initiated from the north, with the aircraft heading 158.0° at 1 nautical mile and 423 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot's control of the aircraft during the approach was precise, resulting in a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 138 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft performed well, with a touchdown distance of 369 meters and a touchdown speed of 132 knots. However, the touchdown rate was slightly below average at -204 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a slightly longer deceleration period. The runway touchdown position was also slightly misaligned by 6.6 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the pilot's control during the final stages of the approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 22°C and a wind speed of 8 knots at 80°. The crosswind component was 8 knots, while the headwind component was 1 knot. These conditions did not appear to have a significant impact on the landing, as the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft and achieve a good touchdown.
The total landing distance was 1,610 meters, which is 61% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the pilot was able to bring the aircraft to a stop quickly and efficiently. However, the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 8.9 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the pilot's control during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot's control of the aircraft was precise and effective. However, there were some minor deviations in the touchdown position and rollout alignment, which may have been due to slight errors in the pilot's control.
