Keep the taxi smooth
Turn speed is limited by lateral load on the tyres and the people in the back, and lateral acceleration goes with the square of speed. On an illustrative 25 m turn radius, 10 kt produces about 0.11 g of side load, while 20 kt produces about 0.43 g. Doubling the speed quadruples the load. That square law is the entire content of the "10 knots in turns" rule, and it tells you why a slightly-too-fast turn feels fine and a moderately-too-fast one throws the cabin crew across the galley.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,142 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,142 ft of the 11,996 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,652 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Boeing 737-MAX 8 taxied from the parking area to runway 17R at KDFW Dallas Fort Worth International Airport in 4 minutes, covering approximately 1 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 17R, the aircraft used 7,008 ft of runway, representing 52 % of the available length, and lifted off at 160 kt. Ambient conditions were 89 °F with a wind of 5 kt from 200°, a 2 kt crosswind component and a 5 kt headwind.
The climb commenced 1 mile south of KDFW, climbing from 1,554 ft asl to 38,003 ft asl-a gain of 36,449 ft-over 20 minutes while covering 126 nm.
Cruise began 2 miles southwest of Seymour, Texas, and was maintained for 84 minutes, during which the aircraft flew 641 nm at level altitude.
Descent was initiated 8 miles northeast of Sunnyside, Utah, descending from 38,005 ft asl to 4,799 ft asl, a loss of 33,206 ft in 23 minutes and covering 139 nm.
The final approach to runway 16L at KSLC Salt Lake City International Airport was flown from the north on a heading of 177.0°, intercepting the glide path at 2 nm and 557 ft agl. Local weather reported 88 °F, wind 2 kt from 359°, no crosswind and a 2 kt tailwind.
Landing on runway 16L, which is 11,996 ft long, occurred with a threshold speed of 144 kt. Touchdown was recorded 347 ft beyond the touchdown zone at 139 kt, with a touchdown rate of minus 231 fpm and perfect runway alignment.
The rollout distance measured 4,937 ft, representing 41 % of the runway, and the aircraft remained aligned perfectly throughout the deceleration phase.
After exiting the runway, the aircraft taxied to the parking area in 3 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
In total, the flight covered 913 nm, lasted 136 minutes, and consumed 10,053 lb of fuel.
The Boeing 737-MAX8 established a final approach to runway 16L at KSLC, tracking from the north on a heading of 177.0 ° at 2 nm and 557 ft agl. Local conditions were temperature 88 °F, wind 2 kt from 359 °, with zero crosswind and a 2 kt tailwind component.
Threshold height was reported as good and the aircraft maintained a good threshold speed of 144 kt during the flare.
Touchdown occurred 347 ft beyond the designated touchdown zone; the aircraft’s speed at touchdown was 139 kt, noted as a little fast, and the vertical rate was fair at minus 231 fpm. Runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The rollout covered a total landing distance of 4,937 ft, representing 41 % of the 11,996 ft runway, and rollout alignment remained perfect.
Reduce touchdown speed slightly and aim to achieve touchdown within the touchdown zone to further optimize landing distance usage.
