Keep the taxi smooth
Turn speed is limited by lateral load on the tyres and the people in the back, and lateral acceleration goes with the square of speed. On an illustrative 25 m turn radius, 10 kt produces about 0.11 g of side load, while 20 kt produces about 0.43 g. Doubling the speed quadruples the load. That square law is the entire content of the "10 knots in turns" rule, and it tells you why a slightly-too-fast turn feels fine and a moderately-too-fast one throws the cabin crew across the galley.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,000 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,000 ft of the 8,577 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,602 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Tampa International Airport (KTPA) took approximately 8 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The Boeing 737-MAX8 then began its departure roll on runway 19R, utilizing 6,477 feet of the 11,000-foot runway, which represented 59% of its length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 166 knots, with a local temperature of 87°F and a wind speed of 0 knots from 360 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed away from KTPA, it began its enroute climb 1 mile south of the airport, ascending from 961 feet above sea level to 24,997 feet, an increase of 24,036 feet in just 10 minutes, covering a distance of 55 nautical miles. The climb phase was followed by a 7-minute enroute level cruise, which started 4 miles northeast of Warm Mineral Springs, covering an additional 48 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 5 miles southeast of Fort Myers Beach, descending from 24,524 feet to 1,420 feet, a decrease of 23,104 feet in 18 minutes, covering a distance of 92 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 08L at Miami International Airport (KMIA) was initiated from the west, with the aircraft heading 86.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,389 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with the touchdown point located 245 feet beyond the touchdown zone, at a speed of 134 knots and a smooth touchdown rate of -143 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 19 feet from the centerline. The total landing distance was 4,276 feet, representing 50% of the 8,577-foot runway. Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area in 2 minutes, covering less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 204 nautical miles, with a flight time of 45 minutes and a fuel consumption of 3,502 pounds.
The Boeing 737-MAX8 touched down on runway 08L at KMIA Miami International Airport with a satisfactory approach quality, characterized by a good threshold height and speed. The aircraft descended from 1,389 feet above ground level (agl) at 4 nautical miles from the runway, aligning with the runway heading of 86.0°. The threshold speed of 144 knots was well within the acceptable range, indicating a controlled approach.
The touchdown point was located 245 feet beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 134 knots. The touchdown rate of -143 feet per minute (fpm) was smooth, demonstrating a well-executed flare. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 19 feet from the centreline, which may be attributed to minor deviations in the approach or landing technique. Local weather conditions, with a temperature of 84°F and a gentle tailwind of 2 knots, contributed to a relatively straightforward landing.
The total landing distance of 4,276 feet was 50% of the runway length, indicating a moderate braking performance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, with the aircraft maintaining a consistent path along the centreline. Overall, the landing performance scored 97.9%, reflecting a high level of proficiency and control throughout the approach, touchdown, and rollout phases.
