MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,377 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 425 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A321 taxied from the parking area to runway 18R at KDFW Dallas Fort Worth International Airport in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 18R, the aircraft used 1,673 m of runway, representing 41 % of the available length, and lifted off at 155 kt; ambient temperature was 39 °C with a wind of 8 kt from 170°, a 1 kt cross-wind component and an 8 kt head-wind component.
Climb commenced approximately 1 mile southwest of KDFW, with the airplane ascending from 1,526 ft asl to 35,999 ft asl-a gain of 34,474 ft-over 22 minutes while traversing 150 nm.
Cruise began about 2 miles northwest of 35TX Flying B Ranch Airstrip, Abilene, and persisted for 107 minutes, during which the aircraft covered 835 nm at level flight.
Descent was initiated overhead KTNP Twentynine Palms Airport, descending from 35,339 ft asl to 1,277 ft asl, a loss of 34,063 ft, in 22 minutes and over a distance of 119 nm.
The final approach to runway 25L at KLAX Los Angeles International Airport was flown from the east, on a heading of 263.0° at 4 nm and 1,142 ft agl.
Landing on runway 25L, which is 3,377 m long, was achieved with a threshold speed of 134 kt; touchdown occurred at 424 m down the runway at 132 kt and a vertical speed of minus 140 fpm, with the wheel track offset 7.0 m from the centreline. The total landing distance recorded was 1,358 m, equal to 40 % of the runway, and local conditions were 22 °C, wind 10 kt from 260°, 1 kt cross-wind and 10 kt head-wind.
Runway rollout alignment was reported as very good, confirming a smooth deceleration after touchdown.
The aircraft taxied from the runway to the parking stand in 2 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
In summary, the flight covered a total of 1,113 nm, required 163 units of time, and consumed 6,180 kg of fuel.
The Airbus A321 completed the final approach to runway 25L at KLAX from the east, tracking a heading of 263.0° at 4 nm and 1,142 ft agl. The approach was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope and centreline all within limits; local weather was 22 °C with a 10 kt wind from 260°, including a 1 kt cross-wind component and a 10 kt head-wind.
Threshold height was reported as good and the threshold speed was good at 134 kt.
Touchdown occurred 424 m down the runway, a distance described as good, with a touchdown speed of 132 kt also judged good. The touchdown rate was smooth at -140 fpm, while the touchdown point was slightly misaligned by 7.0 m from the centreline.
Runway rollout alignment was very good and the total landing distance was 1,358 m, representing 40 % of the 3,377 m runway length.
Maintain precise lateral alignment on final approach to keep touchdown within a few metres of the centreline, and verify crab de-rotation timing to consistently achieve the standard 300 m (1,000 ft) aim point.
