Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 6,320 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 6,320 ft of the 13,408 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,616 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
KIAH George Bush Intercontinental Houston Airport served as the departure point, where the Boeing 737‑900 began its taxi from the parking area to runway 15L. The taxi phase lasted 11 minutes and covered 2 nm before the aircraft rolled onto the runway. The takeoff roll measured 4,047 ft, representing 34 % of the available runway length, and the aircraft achieved liftoff speed of 148 kt. Local conditions were 84 °F with a 5 kt wind from 29°, producing a 4 kt crosswind and a 3 kt tailwind component.
The flight progressed through a series of climb, cruise, and descent segments. Enroute climb commenced 1 mile south of KIAH, rising from 1,065 ft to 29,984 ft in 12 minutes over 61 nm, an increase of 28,919 ft. Subsequent cruise and descent phases followed a similar pattern: a 2‑minute cruise covering 12 nm, a 3‑minute descent from 30,010 ft to 23,991 ft over 27 nm, a 3‑minute cruise covering 27 nm, a 14‑minute descent from 23,993 ft to 6,038 ft over 80 nm, a 2‑minute cruise covering 6 nm, a 2‑minute descent from 5,707 ft to 4,033 ft over 6 nm, a 2‑minute cruise covering 6 nm, and a final descent from 4,008 ft to 1,850 ft over 10 nm. The total flight distance amounted to 246 nm, completed in 58 minutes while consuming 5,915 lbs of fuel.
The approach to KDFW Dallas Fort Worth International Airport concluded with a final approach to runway 17C from the north, heading 180.0° at 4 nm and 1,269 ft AGL. Landing occurred on runway 17C, which is 13,408 ft long; the touchdown point was 267 ft beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 133 kt and a descent rate of –138 fpm. The touchdown alignment was described as very good, and the total landing distance was 6,071 ft, representing 45 % of the runway. After touchdown, the aircraft taxied back to the parking area in 6 minutes, covering less than 1 nm.
The final approach to runway 17C at KDFW Dallas Fort Worth International Airport was executed from the north with a heading of 180.0° at 4 nm and 1,269 ft AGL. The aircraft maintained a threshold speed of 140 kt, and the threshold height was reported as good, indicating a clean approach profile. The touchdown occurred 267 ft beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 133 kt and a descent rate of –138 fpm, all within the acceptable parameters for the aircraft type.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft was aligned very well with the runway centreline, and the touchdown alignment was described as perfect. The touchdown rate was smooth, and the aircraft’s speed at touchdown was within the target range. The runway rollout alignment was also reported as perfect, demonstrating precise control during the deceleration phase.
The total landing distance was 6,071 ft, which represents 45 % of the available runway length of 13,408 ft. The overall landing score was 99.9 %, reflecting an excellent execution of the approach, touchdown, and rollout phases under the prevailing weather conditions of 79 °F, 5 kt wind from 30°, a 2 kt crosswind, and a 4 kt tailwind.
