Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,651 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 619 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in the Cessna C182 started with a smooth departure roll on runway 18 at LFLB Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc Airport. The takeoff distance was 531 meters, which accounted for 32% of the total runway. The liftoff speed was achieved at 70 knots. The local weather at the time of departure was 16°C with a 10 knot wind coming from 11° resulting in a 2 knot crosswind and a tailwind of 10 knots.
The enroute climb began over Voglans in Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, France. The climb took the aircraft from 1,523 feet above sea level to 2,612 feet above sea level, covering an increase of 1,089 feet in just 1 minute and spanning 1 nautical mile.
After reaching the desired altitude, the aircraft entered into a level cruise over Sonnaz in Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, France, which lasted for 25 minutes and covered a distance of 5 nautical miles.
As the flight approached the destination airport, a final approach to runway 18 at LFLB Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc Airport was made from the north with a heading of 172.0° at 2 nautical miles and 1,054 feet above ground level. The landing was executed on the 1,651 meter long runway, with the aircraft hitting the threshold at 87 feet above ground level, slightly above the target. The threshold speed was slightly high at 73 knots. The touchdown point was 169 meters beyond the touchdown zone, but the touchdown speed at 50 knots and rate at -78 feet per minute were good. The runway touchdown position was slightly off-center by 4.4 meters.
The total landing distance was 1,373 meters, representing 83% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment post-landing was very good. Taxing from the runway to the parking area took just 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance covered was 10 nautical miles, with a total duration of 9 minutes and fuel consumption of 16 kilograms. The flight showcased efficient takeoff, climb, cruise, approach, and landing phases, with minor alignment deviations noted during touchdown and rollout. Despite these minor discrepancies, the overall flight can be considered successful and operationally sound.
