Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
At the 500 ft gate: off the runway's 3° glideslope.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,503 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 377 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 05 at SBJA Humberto Ghizzo Bortoluzzi Regional Airport. The Airbus A319 took off with a takeoff distance of 790 meters, which accounted for 32% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 148 knots, and the aircraft climbed rapidly, reaching a height of 1,921 feet above sea level in less than a minute, covering a distance of less than a nautical mile.
As the aircraft continued its enroute climb, it leveled off at a cruise altitude, starting 1 mile north of SBJA Humberto Ghizzo Bortoluzzi Regional Airport. This level cruise lasted for 3 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 05 at SBJA Humberto Ghizzo Bortoluzzi Regional Airport, heading southwest at an altitude of 732 feet above ground level and 1 nautical mile from the runway.
The landing was successful, with a touchdown speed of 98 knots and a touchdown distance of 375 meters. The touchdown rate was fair at -219 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.2 meters from the centerline. The total landing distance was 1,218 meters, accounting for 49% of the runway. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.4 meters from the centerline.
The flight was completed with a total distance of 7 nautical miles, taking 5 minutes to complete. The aircraft used 7,415 kilograms of fuel during the flight. The local weather conditions remained relatively stable throughout the flight, with temperatures ranging from 22 to 23 degrees Celsius and wind speeds varying from 4 to 6 knots.
The Airbus A319 successfully landed at SBJA Humberto Ghizzo Bortoluzzi Regional Airport, achieving a score of 95.2%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southwest, heading 37.0° at 1 nautical mile and 732 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with good control, as indicated by the threshold height and speed, which were both within acceptable limits.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft performed well, with a touchdown speed of 98 kt and a distance of 375 meters. However, the touchdown rate was slightly below average at -219 feet per minute (fpm), which may indicate a slight loss of control during the landing. The runway touchdown position was also slightly misaligned by 5.2 meters from the centerline, which could have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's approach path.
The local weather conditions were favorable for the landing, with a temperature of 22°C and a gentle wind of 4 kt at 77°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 kt, while the headwind component was 3 kt, which helped to stabilize the aircraft during the approach. The total landing distance was 1,218 meters, which accounted for 49% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was well-controlled throughout the approach and landing phases.
During the rollout phase, the aircraft's alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.4 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's direction after touchdown. Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft's performance was satisfactory, with a score of 95.2%.
