MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,980 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 475 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Orlando International Airport, the Embraer E190 began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 11 minutes and covered 3 nautical miles. As it rolled down runway 36R, the aircraft accelerated to a liftoff speed of 150 knots, clearing the ground in 1,085 meters, which represented 30% of the runway's length. The local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 30°C, with a gentle headwind of 4 knots and a crosswind of 7 knots.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started 1 mile northwest of the airport and took the aircraft to an altitude of 32,595 feet above sea level, an increase of 31,450 feet in just 12 minutes. The climb covered a distance of 67 nautical miles, setting the stage for a long and efficient cruise. The enroute level cruise phase, which lasted 49 minutes, saw the aircraft maintain a steady altitude and airspeed, covering a distance of 342 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 33 miles southeast of Port Sulphur Airport, and took the aircraft down to 3,050 feet above sea level, a decrease of 29,638 feet in 13 minutes.
As the aircraft continued its descent, it entered a series of short level cruises, before finally beginning its final approach to runway 29 at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport. The landing was executed with a threshold speed that was well above the target, at 126 knots, and a touchdown speed of 123 knots, which was slightly fast. The touchdown point was 55 meters beyond the touchdown zone, but the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, a process that took 5 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 526 nautical miles, and the aircraft used 2,793 kilograms of fuel during the journey, which took a total of 99 minutes.
The Embraer E190 touched down on runway 29 at KMSY Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport with a score of 99.4%. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 286.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,294 feet above ground level. The final approach was characterized by good quality, with a smooth descent and a well-controlled rate of descent. The threshold height was satisfactory, and the threshold speed of 126 knots was significantly above the target speed, indicating a high degree of control and precision.
The touchdown point was located 55 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed of 123 knots was slightly faster than the target speed. However, the touchdown rate of -209 feet per minute was fair, indicating a moderate rate of deceleration. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, with the aircraft maintaining a precise centerline alignment throughout the touchdown phase. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 24°C and a gentle headwind of 3 knots, contributed to a smooth and controlled touchdown.
The Embraer E190 continued to roll out on the runway, maintaining perfect alignment and control. The total landing distance of 1,397 meters was 47% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. Overall, the landing was characterized by good approach quality, precise touchdown alignment, and a controlled rollout, resulting in a high score of 99.4%.
