Improve the pattern base leg
Bank angle in the pattern is conventionally kept to 20 to 30 degrees, and the base-to-final turn is where that convention earns its keep. Stall speed rises with bank because the wing must produce more lift in a turn. Roughly 7 per cent higher at 30 degrees, about 19 per cent at 45, and around 40 per cent at 60. At 65 kt on base you don't have much margin to spend steepening a turn to salvage an overshoot.

One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: six checks at the point nearest 500 ft above the runway after the base turn. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,097 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,097 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 133 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Sabadell Airfield, the Cessna 152 began its takeoff roll on runway 13, accelerating to a liftoff speed of 61 kt in 554 meters, which accounted for 62% of the runway's length. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 22 °C and a gentle wind of 2 kt from 269°, resulting in a negligible crosswind component.
As the aircraft entered the left-hand traffic pattern, it maintained a steady pace, completing the downwind turn in 1 nm and the downwind leg in 2 nm over a period of 94 seconds. The base leg turn was executed smoothly, with the aircraft maintaining an angle of 30.2° to the runway. The final approach was initiated from the north-west, with the aircraft descending to 416 ft above ground level (agl) at a heading of 126.0°. The landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 39 kt and a distance of 131 m, which was 32% of the runway's length. The touchdown rate was fair at -207 fpm, but the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
Following a successful landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, covering a distance of less than 1 nm in under 1 minute. The total flight distance was 7 nm, and the aircraft used 1 kg of fuel, indicating an efficient flight. The flight's performance was notable, with a good threshold height and a perfect runway rollout alignment. The local weather conditions remained favorable, with a temperature of 21 °C and a gentle wind of 4 kt from 279°, resulting in a slight tailwind component.
The Cessna 152 touched down on runway 13 at LELL Sabadell Airfield with a score of 96.7%. The aircraft approached the runway from the north west, aligning with the centreline at 126.0°. The initial approach altitude was 416 feet above ground level (agl) at 0 nautical miles from the threshold. The aircraft maintained a steady descent, with a good threshold height, and touched down at a speed of 47 knots, slightly below the target threshold speed.
The touchdown characteristics were satisfactory, with a distance of 131 meters and a speed of 39 knots. However, the touchdown rate of -207 feet per minute was fair, indicating a slightly steeper descent than ideal. The aircraft maintained perfect runway touchdown alignment, with the nose wheel touching down directly on the centreline. The local weather conditions were favourable, with a temperature of 21°C and a gentle tailwind of 4 knots at 279°.
The aircraft rolled out smoothly, maintaining perfect alignment with the centreline. The total landing distance was 286 meters, accounting for 32% of the runway length. The pilot's control and management of the aircraft during the rollout phase were commendable, resulting in a high-quality landing. Overall, the landing was well-executed, with the aircraft demonstrating good control and precision throughout the approach, touchdown, and rollout phases.
