Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,730 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,730 m of the 1,881 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 647 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 19 at LEMH Menorca Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,453 meters, which accounted for 62% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 160 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 22 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 19 knots from a direction of 280 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 19 knots and a headwind of 0 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile south of LEMH Menorca Airport and reaching an altitude of 37,660 feet above sea level. The climb took 21 minutes and covered a distance of 105 nautical miles, with an increase in altitude of 36,454 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 29 miles northwest of Estellencs, Spain. This phase lasted for 90 minutes and covered a distance of 593 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 12 miles north of Plougrescant, France. The descent took 23 minutes and covered a distance of 124 nautical miles, with a decrease in altitude of 34,383 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 1 mile east of North Petherton, England. This phase lasted for 7 minutes and covered a distance of 24 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 1 mile east of Pensford, England. The descent took 2 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles, with a decrease in altitude of 591 feet.
The final approach to runway 27 at EGGD Bristol Airport was made from the east, with a heading of 266.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,251 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 27, which had a length of 1,881 meters. The threshold height at 56 feet above ground level was slightly above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 139 knots.
The touchdown point was 251 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 131 knots and a touchdown rate of -66 feet per minute, which was excellent. However, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 9.7 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 13 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 14 knots from a direction of 160 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 13 knots and a tailwind of 4 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,668 meters, which accounted for 89% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 18.3 meters from the centerline. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 856 nautical miles, taking 142 minutes, and the aircraft used 5,875 kilograms of fuel.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at EGGD Bristol Airport, achieving an overall score of 83.1%. The final approach to runway 27 was initiated from the east, with a heading of 266.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,251 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, with a touchdown speed of 131 knots, which was considered good. The touchdown point was located 251 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, indicating a slight deviation from the intended landing spot. The touchdown rate was excellent, at -66 feet per minute (fpm), demonstrating a smooth and controlled descent.
However, there were some areas for improvement during the landing. The threshold height at 56 feet agl was slightly above the target, suggesting a minor deviation from the ideal landing height. Additionally, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 9.7 meters from the centerline, indicating a slight drift during the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 13°C and a wind speed of 14 knots at 160°. The crosswind component was 13 knots, while the tailwind component was 4 knots. These conditions may have contributed to the slight deviations observed during the landing.
The total landing distance was 1,668 meters, which accounted for 89% of the available runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 18.3 meters from the centerline, indicating a continued drift after touchdown. Despite these minor issues, the overall performance of the aircraft during the landing was satisfactory, with a score of 83.1%.
