Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 5,316 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,316 ft of the 8,984 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,158 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 38 minutes and covered a distance of 5 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing B737-800, then departed from runway 04 at the Greenville Spartanburg International Airport (KGSP). The takeoff distance was 7,741 feet, which accounted for 70% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 159 knots.
As the aircraft climbed, it started its enroute climb 1 mile east of Greer, South Carolina, and reached an altitude of 7,428 feet above sea level (asl) from an initial altitude of 1,654 feet asl. This climb covered a distance of 14 nautical miles and took 5 minutes. The aircraft then entered a level cruise 1 mile west of Parker, South Carolina, and remained at this altitude for 2 minutes, covering 6 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started overhead Easley, South Carolina, where the aircraft descended from 7,610 feet asl to 3,503 feet asl, a decrease of 4,108 feet in 3 minutes and covering 14 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise 2 miles north of the Oconee County Regional Airport (KCEU) in Clemson, South Carolina, and remained at this altitude for 25 minutes, covering 86 nautical miles.
The enroute climb started overhead Redan, Georgia, where the aircraft climbed from 3,497 feet asl to 4,985 feet asl, an increase of 1,488 feet in 3 minutes and covering 10 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered a level cruise overhead North Druid Hills, Georgia, and remained at this altitude for 5 minutes, covering 6 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started 2 miles east of Candler-McAfee, Georgia, where the aircraft descended from 4,969 feet asl to 3,010 feet asl, a decrease of 1,959 feet in 3 minutes and covering 9 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise 1 mile southwest of Atlanta, Georgia, and remained at this altitude for 8 minutes, covering 12 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 08L at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (KATL) started 2 miles east of the Miller Farm Airport (25GA) in Douglasville, Georgia, where the aircraft descended from 3,005 feet asl to 2,140 feet asl, a decrease of 865 feet in 2 minutes and covering 5 nautical miles.
The aircraft landed on runway 08L at KATL, which had a length of 8,984 feet. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly below the target at 138 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 1,163 feet, and the touchdown speed was 140 knots. However, the touchdown rate was very hard at -508 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 14 feet from the centreline, and the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 40 feet from the centreline. The local weather at the time of landing was 78 degrees Fahrenheit.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 5 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 175 nautical miles, and the flight took 70 minutes. The aircraft used 7,833 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing B737-800 aircraft successfully landed on runway 08L at Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport (KATL) with a score of 91.8%. The final approach was initiated from the west, heading 91.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,114 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 138 knots, which was slightly below the target threshold speed. However, the touchdown distance of 1,163 feet was considered good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown speed of 140 knots was also within acceptable limits, further emphasizing the pilot's skill in managing the aircraft's descent.
Despite the successful touchdown, the landing was not without some minor issues. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 14 feet from the centreline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the pilot's approach path. Additionally, the local weather conditions, with a temperature of 78°F, did not pose any significant challenges to the landing.
The total landing distance of 5,034 feet was 56% of the runway length, which is a relatively normal distance for a Boeing B737-800 aircraft. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 40 feet from the centreline, which may have been due to a slight overcorrection by the pilot during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft coming to a stop within a reasonable distance from the runway threshold. While there were some minor deviations from the ideal landing parameters, the pilot's skills and experience were evident in the smooth and controlled descent.
