Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,091 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 464 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A321 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at EKBI Billund Airport, a process that took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. Departure roll occurred on runway 09, with a takeoff distance of 1,306 meters, which accounted for 47% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 166 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of -1 °C, with a wind speed of 24 knots at a direction of 100 °. This resulted in a crosswind of 6 knots and a headwind of 24 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute level cruise, starting 2 miles north of EKRA Rårup Airfield, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 10 nautical miles.
The aircraft then initiated an enroute climb, starting 1 mile east of EKBI Billund Airport, and reached a height of 13,910 feet above sea level, an increase of 12,650 feet from the initial altitude of 1,260 feet. This climb took 5 minutes and covered a distance of 25 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another enroute level cruise, starting 2 miles north of EKRA Rårup Airfield, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 10 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 3 miles north of EKEL Endelave Airfield, and descended from 14,252 feet to 12,886 feet, a decrease of 1,366 feet, in 2 minutes and covering a distance of 10 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another enroute level cruise, starting 5 miles south of EKSS Samsø Airfield, and lasted for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 19 nautical miles. This was followed by another enroute level cruise, also starting 5 miles south of EKSS Samsø Airfield, and lasting for 3 minutes, covering a distance of 19 nautical miles.
The aircraft then initiated its final descent, starting 5 miles northwest of EKKL Kalundborg Airfield, and descended from 12,064 feet to 1,294 feet, a decrease of 10,770 feet, in 12 minutes and covering a distance of 48 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 12 at EKCH Copenhagen Kastrup Airport, heading 123.0 ° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,272 feet above ground level.
However, the aircraft was required to perform a go-around, initially at an altitude of 14 feet above ground level. This was followed by another go-around at the same altitude. The aircraft then landed on runway 12 at EKCH Copenhagen Kastrup Airport, with a runway length of 2,091 meters. The threshold height was slightly above target, and the threshold speed was well above target at 156 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 465 meters, with a touchdown speed of 154 knots, which was fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -266 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -4 °C, with a wind speed of 21 knots at a direction of 100 °. This resulted in a crosswind of 8 knots and a headwind of 19 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,402 meters, which accounted for 67% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 11.7 meters from the centreline. The aircraft then landed on the same runway, with similar conditions and results.
The total flight distance was 280 nautical miles, taking
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed on runway 12 at EKCH Copenhagen Kastrup Airport, achieving a score of 90.7%. The final approach was initiated from the north-west, heading 123.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,272 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway, with the threshold height at 61 feet agl being above the target, and the threshold speed of 157 knots being well above the target. However, the touchdown distance of 465 meters was considered good, and the touchdown speed of 154 knots was fast. The touchdown rate of -266 feet per minute (fpm) was fair, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -4°C and a wind speed of 21 knots from a direction of 100°. The crosswind component was 8 knots, while the headwind component was 19 knots. The total landing distance of 1,402 meters was 67% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance.
However, there was a slight misalignment of the runway rollout alignment, with the aircraft deviating from the centreline by 11.7 meters. Despite this, the overall performance of the aircraft was satisfactory, and the landing was considered successful.
It is worth noting that the threshold speed was consistently above the target, indicating that the aircraft was landing with a higher speed than intended. This may be due to various factors, such as the aircraft's performance characteristics or the pilot's decision-making. Nevertheless, the aircraft was able to touch down safely and maintain control throughout the landing process.
