MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,594 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 219 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 36 at ENTC Tromsø Airport, Langnes. The takeoff distance was 1,488 meters, which accounted for 74% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 151 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of -9°C, with a wind speed of 5 knots at a direction of 70°. The crosswind component was 4 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile north of ENTC Tromsø Airport, Langnes. The climb took 28 minutes and covered a distance of 173 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from 1,018 feet above sea level to 33,351 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,334 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 2 miles east of Rognan in Nordland Fylke, Norway. This phase lasted for 44 minutes and covered a distance of 330 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 8 miles east of EN25 Solenstua Solenstua in Innlandet, Norway. The descent took 24 minutes and covered a distance of 120 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 33,457 feet above sea level to 3,664 feet above sea level, a decrease of 29,793 feet.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started overhead Loken in Viken, Norway. This phase lasted for 5 minutes and covered a distance of 18 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 2 miles northwest of Lillestrom in Viken, Norway. The descent took 3 minutes and covered a distance of 8 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from 3,694 feet above sea level to 1,838 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,857 feet.
The final approach to runway 01L at ENGM Oslo Airport, Gardermoen was made from the south, with a heading of 15.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,166 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 01L, which had a length of 3,594 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 149 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 222 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 148 knots. The touchdown rate was hard at -480 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.4 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -9°C, with a wind speed of 17 knots at a direction of 10°. The crosswind component was 2 knots, while the headwind component was 16 knots. The total landing distance was 1,348 meters, which accounted for 37% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 658 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 112 minutes. The aircraft used 5,091 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at ENGM Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, with a score of 96.2%. The final approach was conducted from the south, heading 15.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,166 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 01L, which has a length of 3,594 meters.
The threshold height was reported as good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct height as it approached the runway. The threshold speed was also good, at 149 knots, which is a suitable speed for landing. However, the touchdown speed was slightly higher than desired, at 148 knots, which may have contributed to a harder touchdown rate.
The touchdown rate was reported as hard, at -480 feet per minute (fpm), which may indicate that the aircraft touched down with a higher than ideal rate of descent. Additionally, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centreline, by 5.4 meters, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's approach path.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -9°C and a wind speed of 17 knots from a direction of 10°. The crosswind component was minimal, at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 16 knots, which would have helped to slow the aircraft down during the approach.
The total landing distance was 1,348 meters, which is 37% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down and stop within a reasonable distance. The runway rollout alignment was reported as very good, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain a straight path during the rollout phase of the landing.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down safely on the runway. However, there were some minor issues with the touchdown speed and rate, as well as a slight deviation from the centreline.
