Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,698 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,698 m of the 3,299 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 688 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft in question was an Airbus A321, and it was departing from runway 27 at EKBI Billund Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,712 meters, which accounted for 61% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 173 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 7 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 27 knots at 229 degrees.
As the aircraft took off, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead Billund in the Region Syddanmark, Denmark. The climb took the aircraft from an altitude of 1,218 feet above sea level to 15,851 feet above sea level, an increase of 14,633 feet in just 9 minutes, covering a distance of 48 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise that followed began 3 miles northwest of EKSS Samsø Airfield in the Region Midtjylland, Denmark, and lasted for 4 minutes, covering a distance of 32 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started 5 miles north of Asnaes in the Region Sjaelland, Denmark, and took the aircraft from an altitude of 15,128 feet above sea level to 2,808 feet above sea level, a decrease of 12,320 feet in 9 minutes, covering a distance of 48 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise that followed began 1 mile north of Barsebaeckshamn in Skane County, Sweden, and lasted for 4 minutes, covering a distance of 9 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its final approach to runway 22L at EKCH Copenhagen Kastrup Airport from the northeast, heading 221.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,267 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 22L, which had a length of 3,299 meters, was characterized by a threshold height that was above the target, and a threshold speed that was slightly above the target at 149 knots.
The touchdown point was 276 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was a little fast at 143 knots. However, the touchdown rate was good at -196 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 7.7 meters from the centerline, and the runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 15.4 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 5 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 17 knots at 239 degrees.
The total landing distance was 1,621 meters, which accounted for 49% of the runway. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 147 nautical miles, and the flight took 45 minutes to complete, using 1,670 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed on runway 22L at EKCH Copenhagen Kastrup Airport, but with some minor deviations from the ideal landing parameters. The final approach was initiated from the north east, heading 221.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,267 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on the runway, but the touchdown point was 276 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, indicating a slight deviation from the intended landing spot.
The touchdown speed of 143 knots was slightly above the target speed, which could have contributed to the deviation from the touchdown zone. However, the touchdown rate of -196 feet per minute (fpm) was considered good, indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown position was also misaligned by 7.7 meters from the centerline, which could have been due to the crosswind or pilot error.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 5°C and a wind speed of 17 knots from 239°. The crosswind component was relatively low at 5 knots, while the headwind component was 16 knots, which could have affected the aircraft's approach and landing. The runway length was 3,299 meters, providing a sufficient margin for the aircraft to stop after touchdown.
The total landing distance was 1,621 meters, which accounted for 49% of the runway length. This is a relatively high percentage, indicating that the aircraft took a longer distance to come to a stop after touchdown. The runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 15.4 meters from the centerline, which could have been due to the pilot's difficulty in maintaining a straight course during the rollout phase.
Overall, while the landing was successful, there were some minor deviations from the ideal parameters, which could be attributed to the wind conditions and pilot error. However, the aircraft's performance was still within acceptable limits, and the pilots were able to bring the aircraft to a safe stop.
