Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,636 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,636 m of the 3,345 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 390 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A380 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Hamad International Airport, OTHH, in Doha, Qatar. This process took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 34R, with a takeoff distance of 1,887 meters, which was 39% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 155 knots.
As the aircraft climbed out of Doha, it encountered local weather conditions of 40°C temperature and winds of 10 knots at 20°. The crosswind was 7 knots, and the headwind was also 7 knots. The enroute climb started 1 mile north of the airport, with the aircraft ascending from 1,015 feet above sea level to 33,521 feet, an increase of 32,506 feet in 15 minutes, covering a distance of 123 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, starting 24 miles northeast of Ras Tanura Airport in Saudi Arabia. This phase lasted 5 minutes and covered a distance of 160 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb phase, this time from 33,549 feet to 37,800 feet, an increase of 4,251 feet in 3 minutes, covering a distance of 53 nautical miles.
The aircraft continued to cruise at various altitudes, with a level cruise phase starting overhead Umm Qasr Airport in Iraq, lasting 32 minutes and covering 944 nautical miles. Another climb phase started 4 miles east of Cubuk in Turkey, with the aircraft ascending from 37,181 feet to 39,108 feet, an increase of 1,926 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 33 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, starting 4 miles north of Camlidere in Turkey, lasting 52 minutes and covering 1,352 nautical miles. As the aircraft approached its destination, it began a descent phase, starting overhead Watervliet in Belgium, with the aircraft descending from 38,545 feet to 37,516 feet, a decrease of 1,029 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 28 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, starting 12 miles northwest of Wenduine in Belgium, lasting 2 minutes and covering 12 nautical miles. The final descent phase started 23 miles northwest of Middelkerke in Belgium, with the aircraft descending from 37,505 feet to 1,173 feet, a decrease of 36,332 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 108 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 27L at London Heathrow Airport, EGLL, from the east, heading 270.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,086 feet above ground level. The landing was made on the runway, with a touchdown distance of 388 meters, which was good. The touchdown speed was slightly above the target at 143 knots, and the touchdown rate was fair at -260 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 7.9 meters from the centerline, and the runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 18.2 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 20°C temperature and winds of 20 knots at 220°, with a crosswind of 15 knots and a headwind of 13 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,550 meters, which was 46% of the runway length. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area from the runway, taking 3 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 2,822 nautical miles,
The Airbus A380 has successfully landed at EGLL London Heathrow Airport, achieving a score of 92.7%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the east, heading 270.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,086 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 27L, which has a length of 3,345 meters.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down with a speed of 137 knots, which was slightly above the target speed. The touchdown distance was good, measuring 388 meters. However, the touchdown rate was fair, at -260 feet per minute (fpm). The runway touchdown position was also slightly off-center, deviating by 7.9 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 20°C and a wind speed of 20 knots from 220°. The crosswind component was 15 knots, while the headwind component was 13 knots. These conditions did not appear to significantly impact the landing.
The total landing distance was 1,550 meters, which is 46% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly off-center, deviating by 18.2 meters from the centerline. Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor deviations from the ideal performance.
