Improve the pattern base leg turn
Bank angle in the pattern is conventionally kept to 20 to 30 degrees, and the base-to-final turn is where that convention earns its keep. Stall speed rises with bank because the wing must produce more lift in a turn. Roughly 7 per cent higher at 30 degrees, about 19 per cent at 45, and around 40 per cent at 60. At 65 kt on base you don't have much margin to spend steepening a turn to salvage an overshoot.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
Side view — the last 1,193 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,193 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 158 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in the Sting S4 began with a departure roll on runway 08 at EHTE Teuge. The takeoff distance was 419 ft, which was 11% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 67 kn. The local weather at the time of departure was 75 °F with a wind speed of 1 kn coming from 269 °, resulting in a crosswind of 0 kn and a tailwind of 1 kn.
After takeoff, the pilot made a right-hand pattern entry from runway 08 at EHTE Teuge, covering a distance of less than 1 nm in 14 seconds. This was followed by a right-hand pattern crosswind, where the aircraft traveled less than 1 nm in 24 seconds. The pattern downwind turn covered a distance of 1 nm, with an angle to the runway of 45 degrees (72.2 °).
The pattern downwind leg was less than 1 nm and took 12 seconds to complete. The pattern base leg turn covered 3 nm with an angle to the runway of 45 degrees (113.7 °), followed by the pattern base leg which was less than 1 nm and completed in 3 seconds. The final turn in the pattern covered 4 nm in 301 seconds.
The landing took place on runway 08 at EHTE Teuge, which has a length of 3,915 ft. The height at threshold was 10 ft above ground level, with a speed of 48 kn. The touchdown occurred 504 ft from the threshold, with a touchdown speed of 40 kn and a vertical speed indicator (VSI) reading of -93 ft/min. The local weather during landing was 59 °F with a wind speed of 1 kn coming from 270 °, resulting in a crosswind of 0 kn and a tailwind of 1 kn. The total landing distance was 1,069 ft, which was 27% of the runway length.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area from the runway, taking 1 minute to cover less than 1 nm. The total flight distance was 10 nm, which took 11 minutes to complete and used 2 lbs of fuel.
Congratulations on achieving an impressive landing score of 97.5%! Let's delve deeper into each phase of the aircraft landing to understand why you received such a high score.
Firstly, in the Approach Phase, your glideslope alignment was excellent. This indicates that you maintained the correct vertical profile while descending towards the runway, ensuring a smooth and controlled approach. A precise glideslope alignment is crucial for a safe and successful landing, so kudos to you for nailing this aspect.
Moving on to the Landing Phase, your good threshold height and perfect landing flare are worth commending. The threshold height refers to the point at which the aircraft should ideally cross the runway threshold, and your performance in this area indicates a high level of accuracy and control. Additionally, executing a perfect landing flare demonstrates skill and proficiency in managing the aircraft's descent rate just before touchdown.
Now, let's talk about the Touchdown Phase. While your touchdown rate was excellent, it is important to address the fact that your speed was slightly too high. Maintaining the correct landing speed is crucial for ensuring a safe and smooth touchdown, so be mindful of this in future landings. However, it is worth noting that your touchdown distance inside the touchdown zone and the runway touchdown position were both within acceptable parameters, showcasing your ability to accurately place the aircraft on the runway.
Finally, in the Rollout Phase, your runway alignment was very good. This indicates that you maintained a straight path down the runway after touchdown, reducing the risk of veering off course. Consistency in runway alignment demonstrates professionalism and meticulous attention to detail.
Overall, your performance in each phase of the landing process was commendable, leading to an outstanding landing score of 97.5%. Keep up the excellent work and continue honing your skills to further improve your landing proficiency. Your dedication to excellence is evident, and I have no doubt that you will continue to excel in your future landings. Well done!
