Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,996 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 285 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the departure roll from runway 10L at SBGR André Franco Montoro International Airport. The Airbus A319 took off with a takeoff distance of 1,082 meters, which is 30% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 164 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 26 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 6 knots from a direction of 340 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed away from the airport, it began its enroute climb 1 mile northeast of SBGR André Franco Montoro International Airport. The climb started from an altitude of 3,469 feet above sea level and reached a height of 4,569 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,100 feet in just 1 minute. This climb phase covered a distance of 2 nautical miles.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 2 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. This phase began 2 miles northeast of the airport.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it started its enroute descent 2 miles northwest of SBGR André Franco Montoro International Airport. The descent began from an altitude of 4,413 feet above sea level and ended at an altitude of 2,865 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,547 feet in 2 minutes. This descent phase covered a distance of 2 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 10R at SBGR André Franco Montoro International Airport was made from the west, with the aircraft heading 74.0 degrees at an altitude of 406 feet above ground level and a distance of 1 nautical mile from the runway threshold.
The landing on runway 10R was successful, with the touchdown point being 247 meters beyond the touchdown zone. However, the touchdown speed of 115 knots was a little fast, and the touchdown rate was hard at -457 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 7.3 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 24 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 6 knots from a direction of 340 degrees. The total landing distance was 1,460 meters, which is 49% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
In conclusion, the flight was completed with a total distance of 11 nautical miles, taking 5 minutes to complete. The aircraft used 220 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A319 aircraft successfully landed at SBGR André Franco Montoro International Airport, achieving a score of 94.4%. The final approach to runway 10R was conducted from the west, with a heading of 74.0° at 1 nautical mile and 406 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a good threshold height, and the threshold speed was also satisfactory at 116 knots.
However, there were a few areas for improvement during the landing. The touchdown point was 247 meters beyond the touchdown zone, indicating that the aircraft touched down slightly further down the runway than intended. Additionally, the touchdown speed of 115 knots was a little fast, and the touchdown rate was hard at -457 feet per minute (fpm). This suggests that the aircraft may have experienced a slightly rougher-than-ideal touchdown.
The runway touchdown position was also slightly misaligned by 7.3 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's alignment during the final approach. Despite these minor issues, the runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain a stable and controlled descent during the rollout phase.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 24°C and a wind speed of 6 knots at 340°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind component and a headwind of 0 knots, making the landing conditions relatively straightforward. Overall, the landing was successful, but there were a few areas for improvement that could be addressed in future landings.
