Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach that landed joined below the 1,000 ft and 500 ft gates, after a go-around. The gate assessed on the earlier approach is not shown - it was not the landing's.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,742 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 494 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport (LHBP) took less than a minute, covering a distance of less than one nautical mile. The Embraer E175 then began its departure roll on runway 31R, accelerating to a liftoff speed of 145 knots. The takeoff distance of 1,025 meters accounted for approximately 28% of the runway length. Local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 20 degrees Celsius and a headwind of 15 knots at 313 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed away from LHBP, it transitioned into enroute climb, reaching an altitude of 4,104 feet above sea level. The climb phase was characterized by a vertical ascent of 2,681 feet over a distance of three nautical miles, achieved in just one minute. Later, the aircraft began its enroute descent, reducing its altitude from 4,024 feet to 500 feet above sea level over a distance of 12 nautical miles, taking approximately four minutes to complete. The descent phase was followed by a go-around procedure on runway 31R, initiated at an altitude of 51 feet above ground level.
The Embraer E175 subsequently executed a final approach to runway 31R from the southeast, aligning with the runway heading of 313.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,562 feet above ground level. The aircraft touched down 149 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 125 knots. The touchdown rate was smooth at -132 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The total landing distance of 1,628 meters accounted for 44% of the runway length. Following a perfect runway rollout alignment, the aircraft completed its landing phase, consuming a total of 61 nautical miles and using -3 kilograms of fuel over the course of the flight, which lasted approximately 20 minutes.
The Embraer E175 aircraft successfully executed a final approach to runway 31R at LHBP Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport from the south east, aligning with the runway heading of 313.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,562 feet above ground level. The approach quality was satisfactory, with a good threshold height achieved. However, the threshold speed was above the target, reaching 135 knots, which may have been a result of the 13-knot headwind.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft landed 149 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a speed of 125 knots, which was slightly faster than desired. Nevertheless, the touchdown rate was smooth, at -132 feet per minute, indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, with the aircraft maintaining its centerline alignment throughout the rollout phase. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 20°C and a 13-knot headwind, contributed to the successful landing.
The total landing distance of 1,628 meters was 44% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, with the aircraft maintaining its centerline alignment throughout the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with a score of 99.2%. The Embraer E175 demonstrated its capabilities in executing a smooth and controlled landing in the given weather conditions.
